The Cavern--Joe Restivo Quartet November 21

November 21, 7:30pm

Memphis-born and New York–trained, Joe Restivo has established himself as one of Memphis’ best jazz and blue guitarists providing, as one critic has penned, “innovative interpretations of standard tunes and weaving traditional phrasings and notes into his own originals, even as he elevates these tunes into new standards”   Restivo tours internationally as a guitarist as well as a bandleader and is known for pushing the boundaries of instrumental soul and jazz.  Vintage Guitar Magazine praised his ability to “walk the line between Steve Cropper funk and George Benson soul-jazz with both ease and energy.”  Be sure to check out and listen to his recent recordings:  "A Beautiful Friendship" recorded in 2025 on Warbler Records as well as his 2026 "Joe Restivo and Friends Live From the Green Room."  And, to be sure, take a listen to his 2019 recording "Where's Joe" on Blue Barrell Records.

Restivo will be joined by the legendary Jim Spake on sax together with Haliman Muhammad on bass and Tom Lonardo on drums. This fabulous quarter is not to be missed as they make bring their musical joy to the Cavern Club at The Brass Door. Tickets will go fast so grab a friend or two, reserve your spot, and we’ll see you there!
